How it works
How it works when your paperwork is behind
Five steps from 'my returns aren't done' to a clear answer, and funding if it fits.
- 1
1. Tell us what you need, and what's missing (about 60 seconds)
Amount, purpose, state, turnover, whether you own property, and which paperwork is behind. No credit check when you first enquire.
- 2
2. A specialist reads the whole picture
A real person looks at what you have, not just what you lack, and calls to fill in the gaps: how long you've traded, what's lodged, any ATO balance, what the money is for.
- 3
3. We match your evidence to a lender
Some lenders work from BAS, some from bank statements, some from property equity. We choose the one that accepts the evidence you hold, and only approach it with your agreement.
- 4
4. You gather a short, specific list
Not a generic checklist. Typically statements, a few BAS, ATO records or property details, plus ID. If a letter from your accountant would help, we'll say exactly what it should confirm.
- 5
5. Assessment, offer and funding
The lender assesses, and if you choose to proceed, runs its credit check and issues documents. Funds are paid to your account or directly to whoever needs paying.
What makes our process different?
Most lenders start with a list of documents and stop when one is missing. We start with what's missing, then look for what can take its place. Tax returns can often be replaced by lodged BAS and bank statements. Financials can be replaced by software reports and an assets and liabilities statement. A short trading history can be offset by contracts, history under a previous ABN, or property equity. The pages on what's missing and what to use instead explain each swap in detail.
What we ask of you
- Be accurate on the form. Turnover, property, existing debts and what's lodged. Accurate answers get you to the right lender first time.
- Mention the awkward bits. An ATO balance, a late return, a past credit issue. Past credit issues and ATO debt are considered case by case, and they're far easier to work with when known upfront.
- Send complete documents. Every page, every business account, straight from the source.

Common questions
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. The lender runs one only after you've seen your options and decided to go ahead.
Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?
No. One team reads your enquiry and your file goes only to the lender that suits your evidence, with your agreement. We don't spray your details around.
What if I don't know which documents I have?
That's fine. Tell us what you think is missing and the specialist will work through it with you on the call. The substitute checker on this site is a good place to start.
Why do you ask about paperwork on the form?
Because it decides which lenders are realistic. Knowing upfront that your tax return is overdue, or that you have strong statements, lets us match you properly the first time.
How long does it take?
It depends on the loan type, the lender and how quickly documents come together. Secured loans also need a valuation. Your specialist will give you a realistic timeline on the first call.
Do I have to accept an offer?
No. You can ask questions, compare, and walk away at any point before signing loan documents.
